Profile

I have been working as an independent executive coach and organisational development consultant for over eight years. Before that I had a long career in the National Health Service including fifteen years experience as a senior manager working at Director and Board level. I am interested in using my extensive expertise in partnership working across health and social care to support individuals and organisations to develop and sustain new forms of collaboration to deliver change. Recent clients have come from Health Organisations (including a particular focus on primary care), Local Authorities, Further Education Colleges and Voluntary and Community Organisations. There have been clients from the business sector, but my client base reflects my commitment to the public sector.

I have built up a coaching practice with senior managers and clinicians on personal and leadership development, skills for working in complex organisations (in particular working in partnership and working in politically sensitive environments) and career planning and change.

My base has been London for the last (almost) 30 years. I spent several years in the North East (vestiges of a Geordie accent still remain if you listen hard) and then Cambridge before arriving here. Travel has always been an interest, sparked by having a Norwegian mother and an Australian father. This background probably also set the seeds of my interest in people and how they overcome obstacles to achieve their goals, and certainly informed my values, in particular dealing with diversity.

Throughout my working life I have also been involved with the Voluntary and Community Sector as trustee, participant and volunteer. My current pro bono work is as a coach for the sixth form students at a local girls’ comprehensive school.
